"H-hey! Papa, what's this?" A little girl called to her father as she scurried to his side. They were in a dusty attic, filled to the brim with junk and treasures. On one wall there would be the cheap plastic ornaments for Christmas, while the other wall was a citadel for books. Each book looked worn and old, having been given to the young girl's father after his father died. But the book the little girl held was different. It was a fairy tale book, much different from the boring and dull books that had surrounded it. The father took the book in his hands, smiling as he read the title. "This is a very special book," the father stated, "it's a book Granpa gave me when I was your age, The Brothers Grimm's fairy tales."

The little girl smiled in response to her father's. "Papa, was it a good book?" She asked. The way it collected dust and looked like a long-disturbed treasure intrigued her, made her want to learn more of the words inside of it. "It is... It is." The father nodded, "It's a brilliant book filled with many fantastical stories. About princesses and princes," The father took a sudden turn, putting down the book and picking up his little daughter, "And scary monsters and witches!" The little girl squealed in delight until she was put down. She then proceeded to pester her father, "Papa, papa! I wanna listen to the stories, too!" Attempting to win over her father by tugging on his shirt. The father picked up the book and gave her a slight bop on the head, "Sure, why not? We need a little break from all this sorting." The little bounced excitedly, thrilled to hear a new story. The father hoisted the girl onto his lap and opened the book to one of the more calmer stories.

"Now, this one is called 'The Golden Bird', Ella..." The man said, then continued on with the story, "A certain king had a beautiful garden, and in the garden stood a tree which bore golden apples..."
